【摘要】:Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforuseasarefereemethodforthedeterminationofthewoolbasecontentandthecleanwoolfiberpresentinalotofrawwool.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,usethesamplesforsuchacomparativetestthatareashomogenousaspossible,drawnfromthesamelotofmaterialasthesamplesthatresultedinthedisparateresultsduringtheinitialtestingandrandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratory.Thetestresultsfromthelaboratoriesinvolvedshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,probabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifbiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfutureresultsforthatmaterialbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodisalsousedinstudiesaimedatderivingsuitableformulasforestimatingtheallowancestobemadeforwoolunavoidablylostordestroyedinsuchcommercialoperationsascarding,combing,orcarbonizing.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewoolbasecontentandthecleanwoolfiberpresentinalotofrawwoolbycommercial-scalescouringofthelotfollowedbylaboratorytestsonsamplesofthescouredwool.Note18212;ThesamplingoflotsofrawwoolinpackagesiscoveredinPracticeD1060,andthedeterminationofthewoolcontentofsuchsamplesiscoveredinTestMethodD584.Thedeterminationofvegetablematterandotheralkali-insolubleimpuritiesinscouredwooliscoveredinTestMethodD1113.Forfactorsfortheconversionofwoolbasecontenttoitsequivalentintermsofscouredwool,top,ornoilofvariouscommerciallyspecifiedcompositions,refertoPracticeD2720.Note28212;ThevaluesstatedinU.S.CustomaryUnitsaretoberegardedasthestandardbecauseofcommoncommercialpractice.TheS.I.unitsinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Note38212;Becauseoftradepracticethetermx201C;weightx201D;isusedinthistestmethodinsteadofthetechnicallycorrecttermx201C;massx201D;.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
