【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameasureofthepresenceofsurfactantsinaviationturbinefuels.LikeTestMethodsD2550andD3602,thistestmethodcandetectcarryovertracesofrefinerytreatingresiduesinfuelasproduced.Theycanalsodetectsurfaceactivesubstancesaddedtoorpickedupbythefuelduringhandlingfrompointofproductiontopointofuse.Certainadditivescanalsohaveanadverseeffectontherating.Someofthesesubstancesaffecttheabilityoffilterseparatorstoseparatefreewaterfromthefuel.TheMicro-Separometerhasameasurementrangefrom50to100.Valuesobtainedoutsideofthoselimitsareundefinedandinvalid.Intheeventavaluegreaterthan100isobtained,thereisagoodprobabilitythatlighttransmittancewasreducedbymaterialcontainedinthefuelusedtosetthe100referencelevel.Thematerialwassubsequentlyremovedduringthecoalescingportionofthetest,thus,theprocessedfuelhadahigherlighttransmittancethanthefuelsampleusedtoobtainthe100referencelevelresultinginthefinalratingmeasuringinexcessof100.TestModeAfunctionoftheseparometerwillgiveapproximatelythesameratingforJetA,JetA-1,MILJP-5,MILJP-7,andMILJP-8fuelsasTestMethodsD2550andD3602.UsingModeAwaterseparationcharacteristicratingsofJetBandMILJP-4fuelswillnotnecessarilybeequivalenttoTestMethodD2550butwillgiveapproximatelythesameratingasTestMethodD3602.AllMicro-SeparometershaveTestModeAcapability.TheTestModeBoptionisusedtodeterminewaterseparationratingsforMILJP-4fuelscontainingfuelsystemcorrosionandicinginhibitors.TheseratingsareapproximatelythesameasthoseobtainedusingTestMethodD2550.SelectionofModeAorModeBdependsonthespecificfuelandspecificationrequirement.Table1identifiestherecommendedtestmethodforvariousfuels.ThebasicdifferencebetweenModesAandBistheflowrateatwhichthewater/fuelemulsionisforcedthroughthestandardfiberglasscoalescercell.ThelapsedtimerequiredtoforcetheemulsionthroughthecoalescercellinModeAis45x00B1;2s,whereas,ModeBrequires25x00B1;1s.TABLE1ApplicableTestModeforVariousFuelsAvailableTestMode(s)FuelApplicableTestModeJetA
