【摘要】:Ethyleneoxideisamajorindustrialchemicalwithproductionvolumerankedinthetop25chemicalsproducedintheUnitedStates.Itisusedinthemanufactureofagreatvarietyofproductsaswellasbeingasterilizingagentandfumigant.ThistestmethodprovidesameansofdeterminingexposurelevelsofETOintheworkingenvironmentatthepresentlyrecommendedexposureguidelines.5.2.1OSHAPermissibleExposureLimit(PEL)1ppm,15-minexcursionlimit5ppm(CFR,Part1910,SubpartZ,Section1910.1047).35.2.2ACGIHThresholdLimitValue(TLV)1ppm(1.8mg/m3),suspectedhumancarcinogen.41.1Thistestmethodcoversamethodofcollectingandanalyzingsamplestodeterminetheamountofethyleneoxide(ETO)presentinworkplaceatmospheres.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoprovideatime-weightedaverage(TWA)overtheconcentrationrangefrom0.2to4ppm(v).1.3Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodetermine15-minexcursions(STEL)rangingfrom1to25ppm(v).1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection9forspecificsafetyhazards.
