【摘要】:1ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesasetofcheckcharactersystemscapableofprotectingstringsagainsterrorswhichoccurwhenpeoplecopyortypedata.Thestringsmaybeoffixedorvariablelengthandmayhavecharactersetswhicharea)numeric(10digits:0to9);b)alphabetic(26letters:AtoZ);andc)alphanumeric(lettersanddigits).Embeddedspacesandspecialcharactersareignored.2ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesconfor-mancerequirementsforproductsdescribedasgener-atingcheckcharactersorcheckingstringsusingthesystemsgiveninthisInternationalStandard.3Thesecheckcharactersystemscandetect:a)allsinglesubstitutionerrors(thesubstitutionofasinglecharacterforanother,forexample"4234"for"1234)";b)allornearlyallsingle(local)transpositionerrors(thetranspositionoftwosinglecharacters,eitheradjacentorwithonecharacterbetweenthem,forexample"12354"or"12543"for"12345");c)allornearlyallcircularshifterrors(circularshiftsofthewholestringtotheleftorright);d)ahighproportionofdoublesubstitutioner-rors(twoseparatesinglesubstitutionerrorsinthesamestring,forexample"7234587"for"1234567)";ande)ahighproportionofallothererrors.4ThisInternationalStandardexcludessystemsdesignedspecificallyto:a)permitbotherrordetectionandautomaticcorrec-tion;b)detectdeliberatefalsification;andc)checkstringsinterchangedsolelybetweenma-chines.5ThisInternationalStandardisforuseininfor-mationinterchangebetweenorganizations.Itisalsostronglyrecommendedforuseininternalinformationsystems.
